Teachers Needed
The Interfaith Community is looking for a few wonderful educators -- Christian teachers and Jewish teachers, who are knowledgeable and engaged in their respective traditions -- to team-teach (part-time) in our educational program for children K - 6 from Jewish/Christian families.

Our philosophy We aim to move into the breech created by the surge of dual-tradition marriages. Our pioneering curriculum exposes children to both their religious heritages, allows them to cultivate their own spirituality and provides a foundation to enable them to follow their own path.
Our curriculum models our philosophy: we honor the distinctiveness of both Judaism and Christianity and support individuals as they pursue their own course.
Our locations and schedules We offer courses in four locations in the New York metropolitan area, as well as in Denver, Colorado and Boston, Massachusetts. Our courses are made up of 12 sessions (typically one hour long), including 10 classes and opening and closing “family days.” Our Manhattan classes generally take place weekly and after school, while our other locations typically take place monthly on Sundays. Full schedules will be set by each chapter in the summer.
Specifically, for 2012-13, we are looking for teachers for:
Westchester County (Larchmont area)
Sunday afternoons, beginning early Fall – usually one or two Sundays per month
Orange/Rockland/Northern New Jersey
Sunday mornings, beginning early Fall -- usually one or two Sundays per month
Long Island (Port Washington area)
Sunday mornings, beginning early Fall – usually two Sundays per month
Manhattan
Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday afternoons, beginning early Fall -- weekly, through January
Boston
Sunday afternoons, beginning Fall – usually one Sunday per month
Our teachers are individuals who have had training and experience in teaching young children in their religious traditions. They are individuals who are stimulated by co- teaching with someone from another faith and by the opportunity to teach an innovative curriculum, which aims to nurture religious continuity in interfaith families. They represent the vitality of each religion to our children and their parents.
We provide our teachers with competitive compensation. We also have a developed curriculum with sample lesson plans and suggested materials for all courses, along with training and support.
