The Interchurch Center (familiarly called "The God Box"!! ) is located in the Columbia University area, right next to Riverside Church and directly behind the Barnard College campus.

It is a 19-story white building which occupies the entire block of 119th-120th Streets/between Riverside Drive and Claremont Ave. (n.b., Claremont is a small street which runs between/parallel to Broadway and Riverside Drive.)  While the building has entrances on both Riverside and Claremont, only the Claremont entrance is open in the evenings.

The Interchurch Center is on the west side of Claremont; it has a large set of revolving doors. (Sometimes the revolving doors are locked at night -- but the door to the far left is always open.) Sign in at Security.

Subway:  take the IRT #1 or #9 local train (front of the train) to 116th St. (Be very careful not to take the # 2 or 3, which veer East after 96th St.) Take the exit to your far left so that you get out on the west side of Broadway. Then either walk west (down hill) on 116th and turn right onto Claremont-- or walk straight north on Broadway (past the main entrance to Barnard College) to 120th St. and turn left one short block and then left again. (Until 6m, a Barnard gate  at 119th St. is open and you can cut through the campus to Claremont.)

Bus: take either the #104 or #4 to 120th Street and Broadway. Turn left/West across Broadway. See above for further details.

Car / taxi: If you do drive and take the West Side Highway rather than the streets, you can exit at 125th Street and turn right up on Claremont.) Going home, taxis are normally very numerous and easy to hail on Broadway.

Parking: Free parking may be available in the building’s garage. As arrangements must be made in advance, contact us* prior to the day of the event. In addition, street parking is usually available at night. And, there is a parking garage in Riverside Church on the north side of 120th between Broadway and Claremont.

Subway:  take the #6 train to the 96th St. stop and walk four blocks south on Lexington Ave. Turn right on 92nd St. and walk for two blocks.

Parking: Parking is available on the street, or in a nearby garage.
