Founded in 2005, the chapter draws its members from throughout Nassau County (both North and South Shore), as well as from Queens, Brooklyn, and Suffolk Counties. Most programs are offered in Port Washington, New York, or in nearby towns.

The chapter maintains close ties with a rabbi and a minister, as well as with a local synagogue and church where it celebrate major holidays.
