HOLIDAYS      ADULT PROGRAMS  CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS

OCTOBER:

YOM KIPPUR SERVICE AND ‘BREAK FAST’: A short service to celebrate Yom Kippur will introduce families to the holiday. This event will include an explanation of Yom Kippur, prayer, a shofar – and a "Break Fast."
Saturday, October 8th; Temple B'Nai Israel, 1 Wave Avenue, Revere, MA; Time: TBD.

NOVEMBER:

ALL SAINTS FAMILY WELCOME DAY: Learn more about saints, sacred spaces and rituals of both traditions through hands-on family activities. For children and parents interested or already enrolled in our "Celebrating our Traditions" class, this will be an opportunity to meet teachers and learn more about our class.

FORMAL CLASSES FOR CHILDREN (K-4) "Celebrating our Traditions": Based on interest, classes will begin in November 2011
Classes will meet on Sunday afternoons from 4-6 p.m.

HANNUKAH/ADVENT CELEBRATION: Join us for a festive holiday gathering to learn about the season and share with our own and other interfaith famlilies.

FEBRUARY:

ADULT EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING: Was Jesus Jewish? Was Jesus Divine? Exploring Our Understanding of God As a way to engage the adults in our community and continue to learn about both traditions in our families, we will engage in a facilitated discussion of the nature of Jesus Sunday, February 5th, AFSC Offices, 2161 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA, 4-6 PM

MARCH:

EASTER/PASSOVER GATHERING: Learn about – and how to lead a seder for your family and friends, as we discover the meaning and the rituals of Passover. We will also learn more about Palm Sunday and how to prepare for and celebrate the Christian Holy Week. Sunday, March 25th, Location & Time: TBD

MAY:

FAMILY CLOSING DAY/BABY WELCOMING: This special service will recognize children completing our “Celebrating our Traditions” class, and welcome new children into our community.
